Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to Bible Affirmations (“we”, “our”, “us”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

The short version: we do not have accounts, we do not ask for your email, and the affirmations you read are stored on your phone rather than on our servers. If you choose to tell the app your first name, it stays on your phone too.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of data:

• Device Identifiers. An anonymous, randomly generated device ID, stored in your device Keychain. It is used for analytics and to rate limit background image requests. It is not linked to your name, email or Apple ID.
• Usage Data. Screens visited, features used and interaction patterns, used to improve the app experience.
• Onboarding Answers. The options you pick when you first set up the app, for example how you have been feeling lately. They are used on your phone to choose your verses. The options picked are counted in our analytics and stored with your anonymous RevenueCat record, never with your name.
• Usage Summaries. Simple groupings worked out on your phone, such as how many days you used the app in the last two weeks, your most read topic, your streak range, and which Premium features you have looked at. They are sent to Firebase and RevenueCat so we can understand how the app is used and decide which offers to show you in the app.
• Purchase Data. Subscription status and transaction history, processed securely through Apple StoreKit.
• User Preferences. Your selected language, theme, favorite verses, chosen categories, reminder settings and onboarding choices. These are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to us.
• Your First Name, If You Give It. Optional. It is stored only on your device, used to greet you in the app and in your reminders, and never uploaded.
• Your Gratitude Answers. The line you write each day in the Gratitude challenge stays on your device. Only the number of days completed is counted in our analytics.

We do not collect your email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location or health data. We do not track you across other apps or websites, we do not sell your data, and the app contains no advertising.

3. Where Your Affirmations Come From

All Bible verses, affirmations, reflections and prayer prompts are written and reviewed in advance and ship inside the app itself; new or corrected verses can arrive as content updates downloaded from this website. Read Aloud plays our own recording of each card, downloaded the first time you play it and kept on your phone. Choosing a category or a mood does not send anything anywhere: the selection is matched against content already stored on your device. Earlier versions of the app generated some content with a third-party AI service. That is no longer the case, and no part of the app sends your topic or mood selections to any AI provider.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:

Photo backgrounds are optional. If you never use the photo background feature, no request leaves the app for that purpose.

5. How We Use Your Data

• To provide, maintain and improve our Service.
• To show you the categories and verses you have chosen.
• To process and manage your subscription.
• To analyze app usage and fix bugs.
• To decide which offers and messages to show you inside the app, based on the usage summaries above. This data is never used for advertising.
• To send you reminders, only with your permission, and only from your own device.

6. Data Storage and Retention

Your preferences and favorites are stored locally on your device. We do not maintain user accounts and we do not store personal data on our servers. Analytics data is retained by Firebase according to Google’s data retention policies. You may delete all local app data at any time by uninstalling the app.

7. Data Deletion

Since we do not collect personally identifiable information or maintain user accounts, uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. To request deletion of any analytics data associated with your device, contact us at the email below.

8. Security of Your Information

We use administrative, technical and physical measures to protect your information, including keeping every API key on our own backend rather than in the app. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the information you provide, please be aware that no security measure is perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against interception or other misuse.

9. Children’s Privacy

The app is not directed at children. In line with our Terms of Use, you must be at least 16, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to use it, or have verifiable consent from a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, please contact us immediately.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Stop sharing usage statistics at any time in the app, under Settings > Share usage statistics. While it is off, the app sends no analytics events or usage summaries.
• Ask us to delete the analytics data linked to your device, by writing to the address below. Deleting the app also resets the anonymous ID that data is stored under.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the app and on this page.
