1. Introduction

Welcome to Bible Affirmations (“we”, “our”, “us”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

The short version: we do not have accounts, we do not ask for your name or email, and the affirmations you read are stored on your phone rather than on our servers.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of data:

• Device Identifiers. An anonymous, randomly generated device ID, stored in your device Keychain. It is used for analytics and to rate limit background image requests. It is not linked to your name, email or Apple ID.
• Usage Data. Screens visited, features used and interaction patterns, used to improve the app experience.
• Performance and Crash Data. Diagnostic reports that tell us when something has broken.
• Purchase Data. Subscription status and transaction history, processed securely through Apple StoreKit.
• User Preferences. Your selected language, theme, favorite verses, chosen categories, reminder settings and onboarding choices. These are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to us.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location or health data. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and the app contains no advertising.

3. Where Your Affirmations Come From

All Bible verses, affirmations, reflections and prayer prompts are written and reviewed in advance and ship inside the app itself. Choosing a category or a mood does not send anything anywhere: the selection is matched against content already stored on your device. Earlier versions of the app generated some content with a third-party AI service. That is no longer the case, and no part of the app sends your topic or mood selections to any AI provider.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:

Photo backgrounds are optional. If you never use the photo background feature, no request leaves the app for that purpose.

5. How We Use Your Data

• To provide, maintain and improve our Service.
• To show you the categories and verses you have chosen.
• To process and manage your subscription.
• To analyze app usage and fix bugs and crashes.
• To send you reminders, only with your permission, and only from your own device.

6. Data Storage and Retention

Your preferences and favorites are stored locally on your device. We do not maintain user accounts and we do not store personal data on our servers. Analytics data is retained by Firebase according to Google’s data retention policies. You may delete all local app data at any time by uninstalling the app.

7. Data Deletion

Since we do not collect personally identifiable information or maintain user accounts, uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. To request deletion of any analytics data associated with your device, contact us at the email below.

8. Children’s Privacy

Our app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Opt out of analytics collection, by disabling analytics in your device settings.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the app and on this page.
