When I start to sink, Jesus reaches out His hand.
A Bible affirmation for growing faith, rooted in Matthew 14:29-31.
“Come,” said Jesus. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and took hold of Peter. “You of little faith,” He said, “why did you doubt?”
Matthew 14:29-31 · BSBReflection
Peter actually walked on water, then looked at the wind and started to sink. Jesus caught him immediately. Yes, He asked why Peter doubted, but He asked while holding him. Doubt doesn't make Jesus let go.
A prayer
Jesus, I'm looking at the wind again. Catch me, and help me keep my eyes on You.
