Verses for Everyday Faith

I can look out for other people's interests, not only mine.

A Bible affirmation for everyday faith, rooted in Philippians 2:3-4.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or empty pride, but in humility consider others more important than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Philippians 2:3-4 · BSB

Reflection

Paul follows this with the story of Jesus, who emptied Himself and became a servant. Humility isn't thinking less of yourself. It's thinking of others too, the way Jesus did.

A prayer

Jesus, give me Your humility. Help me notice what others need today.
