Verses for Dark Days

On the outside I'm worn down, but inside God is renewing me.

A Bible affirmation for dark days, rooted in 2 Corinthians 4:16.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, yet our inner self is being renewed day by day.

2 Corinthians 4:16 · BSB

Reflection

Paul was pressed on every side, persecuted and struck down when he wrote this. He doesn't deny the wear. He insists that something else is happening day by day, underneath, where it counts.

A prayer

God, renew me on the inside today, even while I feel worn out on the outside.
