Verses for Dark Days

When my head hangs low, God is the One who lifts it.

A Bible affirmation for dark days, rooted in Psalm 3:3.

But You, O LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, and the One who lifts my head.

Psalm 3:3 · BSB

Reflection

David wrote this while fleeing from his own son Absalom, who had taken his throne. He was humiliated and heartbroken. Still he calls God the One who lifts my head. Sometimes God lifts you before you can lift yourself.

A prayer

Lord, my head hangs low today. Lift it when I can't lift it myself.
