Verses for Rest and Self Care

God lives in me. Taking care of this body is a way to honor Him.

A Bible affirmation for rest and self care, rooted in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 · BSB

Reflection

Corinth treated the body as either a toy or a throwaway. Paul says neither: the Holy Spirit lives in you. Sleep, food, movement and saying no can all be acts of worship.

A prayer

Holy Spirit, You live in this body. Help me care for it like it matters, because it does.
