Religious leaders had turned the Sabbath into a list of rules and criticized Jesus' disciples for picking grain. Jesus reminded them the Sabbath was made for people, not people for the Sabbath. Rest is God's gift to you.

Jesus, help me receive rest as a gift, not as one more thing to get right.
