Verses for Healing from Trauma

God reached down and pulled me out. He delights in me.

A Bible affirmation for healing from trauma, rooted in Psalm 18:16-19.

He reached down from on high and took hold of me; He drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from foes too mighty for me. They confronted me in my day of calamity, but the LORD was my support. He brought me out into the open; He rescued me because He delighted in me.

Psalm 18:16-19 · BSB

Reflection

David describes being overwhelmed by enemies too strong for him. God reached down from on high and drew him out of deep waters. And the reason, he says, is that God delighted in him. Rescue wasn't a duty. It was love.

A prayer

Lord, reach down and pull me out of what still overwhelms me. Thank You for delighting in me.
