Verses for Purpose

God has a future for me, even while I wait.

A Bible affirmation for purpose, rooted in Jeremiah 29:11.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope.

Jeremiah 29:11 · BSB

Reflection

Jeremiah sent this promise in a letter to exiles in Babylon and told them it would be seventy years before God brought them home. He also told them to build houses and plant gardens in the meantime. God's plans don't cancel today's faithfulness.

A prayer

Lord, while I wait for what You've promised, help me plant and build where I am.
