Verses for Grief

God is the God of all comfort, and my grief is included.

A Bible affirmation for grief, rooted in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 · BSB

Reflection

Paul calls God the Father of compassion. Comfort isn't a greeting-card phrase coming from Him. It's His nearness meeting you in what you can't put into words.

A prayer

Father of compassion, comfort me today, especially when the memories ache.
