Verses for Grief

Even in the valley of the shadow of death, God is with me.

A Bible affirmation for grief, rooted in Psalm 23:4.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

Psalm 23:4 · BSB

Reflection

Through most of Psalm 23, David talks about God. In the valley he starts talking to Him: You are with me. Grief can make God feel far away, but in the darkest valley the psalm becomes most personal.

A prayer

Lord, walk with me through this valley. Let me know You're with me.
