Verses for Mental Health

Hard pressed, but not crushed. I'm still here.

A Bible affirmation for mental health, rooted in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9.

We are hard pressed on all sides, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 · BSB

Reflection

Paul lists four pairs: pressed but not crushed, perplexed but not in despair, persecuted but not forsaken, struck down but not destroyed. Struggling is not the same as being destroyed.

A prayer

God, I'm hard pressed. Keep me from being crushed. Hold me together.
