Verses for Mental Health

Jesus knows what overwhelming sorrow feels like.

A Bible affirmation for mental health, rooted in Matthew 26:38.

Then He said to them, “My soul is consumed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with Me.”

Matthew 26:38 · BSB

Reflection

In Gethsemane, Jesus told His friends His soul was consumed with sorrow to the point of death, and asked them to stay with Him. The Son of God felt crushing emotion and asked for company. You can too.

A prayer

Jesus, You know what this weight feels like. Stay with me in it.
