Verses for Mental Health

I can ask my soul why it's downcast, and still choose hope.

A Bible affirmation for mental health, rooted in Psalm 42:11.

Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why the unease within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.

Psalm 42:11 · BSB

Reflection

The psalmist asks this same question three times across Psalms 42 and 43. Hope isn't a single decision. Sometimes you have to talk to your own soul again and again, and that's okay.

A prayer

God, my soul is heavy today. Help me put my hope in You one more time.
