Verses for Mental Health

God is careful with me when I feel bruised and burned out.

A Bible affirmation for mental health, rooted in Isaiah 42:3.

A bruised reed He will not break and a smoldering wick He will not extinguish; He will faithfully bring forth justice.

Isaiah 42:3 · BSB

Reflection

A bruised reed was useless, and a smoldering wick was nearly out. Most people would throw both away. God's Servant does the opposite: He won't break the bruised or snuff out the faint. Matthew says this Servant is Jesus.

A prayer

Jesus, I feel bruised and nearly burned out. Be careful with me, and bring the flame back to life.
