Verses for Mental Health

God can lift me out of the pit and set my feet on solid ground.

A Bible affirmation for mental health, rooted in Psalm 40:1-2.

For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD; He inclined to me and heard my cry. He lifted me up from the pit of despair, out of the miry clay; He set my feet upon a rock, and made my footsteps firm.

Psalm 40:1-2 · BSB

Reflection

The pit of despair, the miry clay: David knew what it was to be stuck in something that kept pulling him down. He waited, God heard, and God lifted him. Recovery often takes waiting, and help from outside yourself.

A prayer

Lord, I feel stuck. Hear my cry, lift me up and make my footsteps firm.
