Verses for Letting Go

I'm leaving what's behind and pressing toward what's ahead.

A Bible affirmation for letting go, rooted in Philippians 3:13-14.

Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize of God’s heavenly calling in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:13-14 · BSB

Reflection

Paul had plenty behind him to forget: his impressive credentials and his worst failure, persecuting the church. He doesn't relive either. One thing I do, he says, and presses on toward the prize.

A prayer

God, turn my attention forward. Help me stop living in yesterday.
