Verses for Letting Go

This burden isn't who I am. I'm giving it to God.

A Bible affirmation for letting go, rooted in Psalm 55:22.

Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.

Psalm 55:22 · BSB

Reflection

David wrote this psalm after being betrayed by a close friend he once worshiped beside. Even then, he says cast your burden on the Lord and He will sustain you. Some burdens get so familiar they feel like part of you. They're not.

A prayer

God, take the burden I've carried too long. Remind me it isn't my name.
