Verses for Hard Times

My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

A Bible affirmation for hard times, rooted in Psalm 121:1-2.

A song of ascents. I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.

Psalm 121:1-2 · BSB

Reflection

Pilgrims sang this psalm on the road up to Jerusalem, through hill country that could be dangerous. Looking at the hills raised the question: where does my help come from? The answer was higher than the hills.

A prayer

Lord, I'm lifting my eyes to You. Be my help today.
