Verses for Hard Times

This hard season is building something in me that will last.

A Bible affirmation for hard times, rooted in Romans 5:3-5.

Not only that, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.

Romans 5:3-5 · BSB

Reflection

Paul traces a chain: suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces character, character produces hope. And that hope doesn't disappoint, because God has poured His love into your heart. Pain isn't the end of the chain.

A prayer

God, I don't like this season. Use it to build perseverance and hope in me.
