Verses for Joy

The joy of the Lord is my strength. I can stop holding my breath.

A Bible affirmation for joy, rooted in Nehemiah 8:10.

Then Nehemiah told them, “Go and eat what is rich, drink what is sweet, and send out portions to those who have nothing prepared, since today is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

Reflection

When the Law was read aloud, the people wept over how far they had drifted. Nehemiah told them to dry their eyes, throw a feast and share it with anyone who had nothing. Sometimes holiness looks like a full table.

A prayer

Father, where I've been grieving what I got wrong, give me Your joy instead. Let it make me generous.
